The lanyard hole has chamfering and doesn't have a hard edge like I have seen mentioned on some videos about fake spydercos. Do any of your Manix 2 G-10s have this?ĥ. I haven't been able to find anything online about this but the screws on my manix's pocket clip protrudes past the liner. (both bladehq's product pic and video show the lettering being off center)Ĥ. The pic on knifecenter also shows the lettering to be centered but if you watch the QuickFlick video the lettering is off centered. The 'Spyderco CPM S30V' etching on my blade is off-centered - its closer to the finger choil - when compared to the pic on spyderco's site. Position of 'Spyderco CPM S30V' on the blade - This one had me really worried. A quick search on this forum revealed that not all spyderco's come with the Edge-U-Cation paperģ. Also, I did get a 'product information guide' pamphlet but there was no Edge-U-Cation paper in the box and had me worried. Box Art/Barcode/Edge-u-cation paper myths? - came accross a lot of videos about box art and how barcode numbers should be touching the vertical lines but from what I read the barcode numbers touching vs not touching is not a reliable way to tell the authenticity ( post). The pamphlet that I got in the box mentions a "tumbled matte finish." People mention the stonewash finish on a post as well and seems stonewash finish started somewhere around 2013/2014? (Also, another user posted about the finish on their s30v para 3) (Side note, the pamphlet mentions skeletonized liners on G-10 but seems that only the XL has skeletonized liners?)Ģ. From what I have seen online (videos, etc) and the official pic on the spyderco site, the manix 2 g-10 does seem to have some sort of finish. Blade finish - the review that got me paranoid claimed that the manix 2 was fake because of the 'beadblasted' or 'stonewashed' finish on the blade. Points 3, 4, and 5 have me still a little worried although I have read a few posts saying they have never come across a fake manix.)ġ. (Points 1 and 2, I have been able to get info via this forum and research. I think I'm just paranoid and seems like the manix I have is authentic but being a novice, I hope some veterans with the manix 2 g-10 can shed some light. After receiving the manix 2, I read a review on amazon claiming that they received a fake manix 2 g-10 and that led me down a rabbit hole of research trying to figure out if my manix was authentic.
In hindsight, I wish I did some research on 'where' to get the knife as well as 'which' knife. I ordered and received my manix 2 from amazon (sold and shiped by amazon).
I am very new to the world of knives and after some research I finally decided on getting the manix 2 g-10 version as my first spyderco (and my second ever knife).
